Sealmaster intumescent pipe wrap provides a robust and economic fire collar and seal, offering fire resistance in concrete and blockwork compartment walls and floors where openings in these construction elements are formed to accommodate building services. They can be used as a fire seal/pipe collar for thermoplastic pipes and eletrical cables in large bunches.
In a fire attack situation, the lining within the intumescent fire wrap extends to form a robust char barrier which prevents the passage of flames and hot gases through voids created by thermal degration of the building services and in addition restricts temperature rise on the non-fire side of the wall or floor.
Sealmaster intumescent pipe wraps are made from multiple layers of a flexible 1.8mm thick water-resistant intumescent material, contained within a polythene sleeve. Supplied in 7 standard sizes and 9 variations the firewraps are particularly suitable when fittings are located close to the wall or floor and where the fire seal requires installing within the depth of the separating element.
The intumescent pipe wrap is required on both sides of a wall unless the risk is limited to one side and can be applied by positioning the wrap around a pipe or cable bunch and then fastened with the adhesive tab supplied. Slide the wrap along the pipe or cables so that the edge is flush with one side of the wall. Repeat this for both sides of the wall if neccessary. Once the intumescent fire wrap is securely fastened and is flush to the wall ensure any holes or gaps are sealed with either FR mortage, FR Intumescent Mastic or another solid non-combustible material depending on your application.
The intumescent fire wraps contain no hazardous materials and are asbestos free. Fire tested in accordance with BS EN 1363-1:1999 & BS EN 1366-3:2004.
