Thermoguard water-based Fire Varnish Overcoat is a part of a varnish system for the fire protection of timber and timber derived surfaces.
To complete the system, this clear and wear-resistant fire varnish should be used in combination with and over the Thermoguard Fire Varnish Basecoat. The Fire Varnish Basecoat provides fire protection and the Fire Varnish Overcoat protects against wear. When exposed to fire, the Thermoguard Fire Varnish system expands to create an insulating barrier and protect wood from burning.
The Thermoguard Fire Varnish Overcoat needs to be applied over the Fire Varnish Basecoat, that has dried for 1-4 days. 1 coat of the Fire Varnish Overcoat is sufficient to complete the system. The product can be applied to a clean surface, with a brush, roller or a spray.
Tested to standards BS Class 1 and Class 0 Surface Spread of Flame and BS EN Class B s2 d0.
Available in clear satin finish, this Thermoguard Woodstain protects the timber surface and enhances its natural beauty.
