ISL Therm-A-Flex is an intumescent fire strip with high expansion foam qualities and firm pressure and was the first UK manufactured exfoliating graphite based intumescent product. This graphite intumescent seal is resistant to both atmospheric moisture and carbon dioxide and can be used in open or concealed situations without special protection.
Suitable for general sealing applications including sealing gaps between elements of construction and sealing gaps between fire resisting doors, frames, shutters, windows and adjacent walls; sealing services into walls or sealing voids within services.
Made of a unique expandable graphite-based material, Therm-A-Flex is a flexible fire strip which makes it an ideal solution for applications where a rigid strip is impractical. The material accommodates tight corners, pipes or tubes, ensuring superiority in performance and application compared to other strip seals. The flexibility reduces as the temperature nears freezing point and it is not recommended that the material is used at temperatures below 5°C.
This flexible intumescent fire strip meets the requirements for fire and smoke performance of BS 476: parts 20, 22 & 31.1. It has also passed the more exacting standards required by Certifire, including CF387.
The intumescent graphite strip is supplied with a self-adhesive backing and is available as a standard 2mm thick strip, up to 130mm wide and in either 2100mm or 1050mm in length. The intumescent door strip can also be decorated with a wide range of conventional finishes without impairing its performance.
