Sealmaster IF30 is an intumescent fire door seal that provide 30 minutes of fire resistance to the door. IF30 intumescent fire seal is the basic intumescent fire seal in the Sealmaster range and is used where primary protection is needed. This includes single and double leaves as well as single and double acting doorsets. Specified for use on FD30 fire doors.
The IF30 is rebated into the head and jambs of the door frame, and is aligned with the centre of the door edge where the recommended door-to-frame gap is 3mm. The intumescent fire door seal is interrupted at the hinges and lock/latch plate positions, however protection at these points is normally not essential for FD30 doors. These areas can be protected by Sealmaster Intumescent Plugs if required. Alternatively this fire seal may be rebated into the top rail and stiles of the door. Either method gives equally effective protection against fire penetration.
The IF30 intumescent door seal consists of an extruded aluminium alloy profile with a single reservoir of Sealmaster’s intumescent material. Sealmaster’s specially-formulated intumescent material is based on a mono-ammonium phosphate, and is compounded to resist degradation by moisture or carbon dioxide. When triggered by heat it produces a low pressure, high volume foam and fills the gaps between the door and the frame. Since the foam remains soft during the period of intumescent action, it does not prevent the door from being opened by firefighters and the copious reserves ensure that the gap will be re-sealed should the door distort for any reason.
The heat-treated aluminium holder is attractive in appearance, easy to install, and retains the intumescent material securely and when correctly positioned in the rebate it will not weaken either the frame or door. Robust and durable in use, it offers excellent vandal and damage-resistance plus good heat conductivity to assist early intumescence. Durability tested for 100,000 door cycles.
Sealmaster IF30 fire seal has been tested and approved by Certifire to conform to BS476 part 22, the most demanding 3rd party cerification scheme in the industry. IF30 intumescent fire seal has also been tested by TRADA where a 30 minute fire-resistance rating was achieved, when used in conjunction with a 30 minute fire door.
Sealmaster fire resistant door seal is supplied in standard length of 1050mm. The IF30 upon application should be pinned every 200mm with the pack of fixing pins supplied
