The Lorient fire intumescent strip provides fire protection where smoke sealing is not required. Ideal for humid environments. Depending on the size, the intumescent strip can offer a 30 or a 60 minute fire rating.
The intumescent material used in Lorient seals is sodium silicate based. This type of material has been proven in many hundreds of tests world-wide. It exhibits outstanding reliability and durability, as when exposed to fire the product remains stable at temperatures in the region of 1000C, with durability tests of up to 100,000 cycles of use.
The Lorient fire strip is fitted to the top and sides of a door and in the event of a fire, expands and seals the gaps around the door to provide an effective barrier to fire and hot gases.
The intumescent fire strip can be used in combination with a Lorient DS acoustic smoke seal to achieve 60 minute fire protection. It can also be paired with a Lorient Batwing seal for additional acoustic and smoke containment.
The fire strip has been tested in accordance with BS 476 Parts 20/22 and Part 31.1 on a complete range of fire door configurations: single & double leaf, single & double acting, latched and unlatched. The Lorient seals are British Board of Agreement and Certifire approved (CF330/CF136) for use on timber-based fire door assemblies.
The Lorient fire intumescent strip is available in a range of sizes and colours, but as standard in a 2100mm length. The fire strip is supplied with a high tack self-adhesive backing for quick and easy installation.
