The Mann Mcgowan Pyrogrille intumescent air transfer grille is designed for installation into fire resisting doors or partitions where there is requirement for the passage of free air, including applications such as doors to boiler rooms, ventilation and air conditioning ducts that penetrate fire separating elements that need to have their integrity maintained.
The Slotgrille intumescent air transfer grilles are manufactured from horizontal slats of high performance intumescent that is spaced 16mm apart. 38mm thick Pyrogrille intumescent air transfer grilles can provide up to 60 minutes integrity and insulation in accordance with BS 476 Part 22 1987, but still allow 60% free air flow in normal use. Fire tested in flexible walling and ducting to BS476: Part 20: 1987, offering up to 120 minutes fire integrity. Fire Tested in timber doors to BS EN1634-1:2014, offering up to 60 minutes fire integrity. Fire resistance tested to Dutch Norm NEN 6069.
Pyrogrille units can be fixed into fire resisting doors or timber stud partitions using a hardwood or steel flange. Alternatively wood screws can be used through the perimeter of the units. Pyrogrille dampers must be secured within the ducting using 4 self tapping screws. On the circular Pyrogrille the screws should pass through the aluminium rings on the outer part of the Pyrogrille. Clearance gaps greater than 3mm should be fire sealed using an intumescent sealant.
Since there are no moving parts to go wrong, Pyrogrilles are easily maintained. Intumescent vents should be cleaned using a damp cloth. Grease can be removed by using neat liquid detergent or methylated spirit. Strong degreasing agents should not be used nor should the units be immersed or saturated with water.
Available in square, rectangular & circular versions, for doors, wall and ducts where there is a need for free air movement in normal conditions. A range of decorative covers are available and bespoke sizes if required. Optional cover grilles for walls, doors and ends of ducts pressed steel and aluminium options available available.
