With some 30,000 reported incidents of amputated, mutilated or damaged finger per year, a solution was required to prevent fingers being damaged in opening and closing doors. Having identified the need in the market, Fingersafe was invented by the company in 1990 and a patent granted in 1992.
The Fingersafe MK1C Door Finger Protector is designed for bi-fold and flush fit doors. This model uses the MK1A module but has a unique fixing strip which keeps the product flat against the door and ejects fingers every time. The MK1C provides a 4 hour fire tested draught finger protector that also offers draught exclusion, acts as a smoke inhibitor and is fully resistant to UV light. Available as two full height strips for use on each side of a butt hinged door.
The Fingersafe MK1C door finger guard is the world’s only proven door safety product for PVC-u doors and is manufactured from PVC-U and flexible PVC-U with specifications available on request. Fingersafe MK1C offers no resistance or restriction to the operation of the door. Unlike an inferior finger shield or wrap around device, Fingersafe allows even a fire door to open to 180 degrees and will not implode into itself under pressure.
