Schlegel Q-Lon SBS draught and weather seal is a high performance, non corrosive, low friction elastomeric seal. Suitable for the perimeter of timber casement windows, vertical sliding sash timber windows, head and jamb of internal timber doors, loft hatches and trap doors. The Q-Lon SBS has been designed for quick fitting and is an ideal replacement seal for the refurbishment and upgrade of existing windows and doors.
This non-corrosive elastomeric seal is designed with a rigid PVC-u carrier and is UV light stable, easily compressed for ease of door operation and has excellent memory, returning to its original shape after compression. Schlegel Q-Lon SBS remains flexible under extreme weather conditions, from -30C to +70C to factor in seasonal gap size changes and is also dirt and grime resistant.
Schlegel Q-Lon SBS seal should be fixed whilst the door or the window is closed. The seal needs to be in firm contact with all parts of the window or door with approximately 3mm compression for external doors and 1.5mm for windows & internal doors before the pin is driven home. There should not be a fixing more than 25mm from the end of the product, as the corners are mitred. To achieve a complete sealing system the catch and stay areas must be draught proofed.
The Q-Lon door seal and window seal is available in white and is supplied in 2.1m lengths. The seal comes with stainless steel fixing pins, pre-punched / drilled at 150mm centres and if necessary pins can be driven through the carrier.
The Q-Lon SBS is supplied with a box carrier to acheive a neat mitred robust finish.
